Construction is always going on – that was the motto of the Bauen Kaufen Wohnen trade fair, which took place for the 8th time this weekend at the Messe Dresden exhibition center. Despite the summer heat, more than 2,000 visitors came to the Messe Dresden. The Sparda study “Wohnen in Deutschland 2023” proves it: the desire for security remains high, with 74 percent wanting to live in their own property. The demand is there, even if it is no longer comparable with the zero interest rate years. Despite higher interest rates and construction costs, young couples still want to fulfill their dream of owning their own home and were looking for financing and funding options at the trade fair, as well as inspiration for their own four walls. Saxony had reacted to the increased construction prices and improved the “Family Living” program: the maximum permissible total expenditure for the creation or acquisition of residential property was increased. It now amounts to 535,000.00 euros for a four-person household with two children. The favorable interest conditions of 0.75% p.a. and the fixed interest rate of 25 years remain in place. Contrary to all trends, this funding for young families to buy their own home is once again in greater demand this year. From the dream of a house to the dream house - the trade fair showed the wide range on offer, from renowned brand houses to affordable modular houses and popular wooden houses. Around 100 exhibitors presented themselves this year. Save the date now: the next HAUS construction trade fair will take place from March 7 to 10, 2024 at the entire Dresden Exhibition Center.
